2002

Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) demonstration project created when President George W. Bush, in his State of the Union address, asks all Americans to make a lifetime commitment to serve their communities, nation and world.

2006

Pierce County MRC created by Dr. David Bales, Dr. Frederico Cruz and Justin Schumacher.

2007

Pierce County MRC participates in its first Project Homeless Connect at the Tacoma Dome.

2008

98 volunteers registered with Pierce County MRC.

2010

Pierce County MRC responds to H1N1 flu with vaccination clinics.

2011

262 Pierce County MRC volunteers serve 1,530 hours at C.A.R.E. clinic.

2016

Pierce County MRC launches its website: piercecountymrc.org.

2016

Pierce County MRC hosts a trailer rodeo where 25 volunteers inventory and stock 12 emergency response trailers.

2018

550 Pierce County MRC volunteers contribute to more than $90,000 of direct public savings with vaccination clinics, wellness events and community fairs.

2021

Pierce County MRC responds to COVID-19 by administering more than 50,000 free vaccinations.

2022

More than 770 volunteers registered with Pierce County MRC. Began using VolunteerHub as our Volunteer Management System.

2023

More than 800 volunteers registered with Pierce County MRC.
